Artificial Intelligence (AI), a field of research considered to have originated at the 1956 Darthmouth conference, studies the artificial intelligenceprogramming and design of systems with the aim of endowing machines with human characteristics ranging from learning to visual and/or spatio-temporal perception.

The aim is to develop devices – from humanoids to robots, from voice assistants to complex video games – that acquire, with the experience derived from the acquisition of information from outside, autonomous learning and adaptation capacities in order to partially replicate (weak artificial intelligence), up to completely emulate (strong artificial intelligence), human behavioural models.

There are many fields of application, with a different spread depending on the sector examined, ranging from the industrial context to the domestic one. The following is a brief review:
